Working together:The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes, HKPR District Health Unit, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton, Community Living Kawartha Lakes and the local Health for Life project, are committed to working with our municipality and other agencies to:

• develop and implement open access policies with physical activity providers
• eliminate access to equipment as a barrier
• promote free opportunities for physical activity
• streamline the process to access financial support relating to participation
• promote the benefits of physical activity as a foundation for a healthy community
• build social ties in neighborhoods

The partners believe that removing barriers to access and creating opportunities and conditions where everyone can thrive is a shared responsibility. We recognize that as community leaders we will continue to build partnerships at the local level to remove barriers and create opportunities for everyone, especially low-income individuals and families, to join in!

The girls had smiles, played with grit and never gave up.   Some of our teams had very tough pools, but each of those teams (and you know whom I am referring to) ended the tournament on a high……….best game ever OR overtime OR a medal round OR most competitive game…….     Every team improved game over game.
 
I saw all but one team play and every smiling face, cheering fan and supportive parent made our organization stronger and more cohesive as we continue in our season.
 
There were many other organizations whom had multiple teams at the tournament.   But, at no time did I see the same energy and numbers in the stands as I did for the Lindsay Lynx.  Parents from opposition commented on how we cheered on each other, in large numbers and in HUGE volume levels.    That’s the spirit that makes us all proud.
 
Congratulations to Brett’s PWB and Tim’s MB for both bringing home silver………those teams did not receive silver…….they “won” their medals in very competitive games.    Great job!

  Fundraising Events  for 2011/ 2012—Important Dates


The Lyndsay Lynx, in association with the Kawartha Coyotes, will be hosting the Eclectic G-Strings :

When:  Saturday Jan. 28^th, 2012     (**MARK THIS ON YOUR CALENDAR!!!)
Time:  8 pm-1am
Where:  Lindsay Fairgrounds.
 
Many Volunteers will be needed to make this a successful event.  If interested please contact your team manager, Teresa Brook, Brett Marchand , or Karen Callaghan .

  10% of food purchased - will be returned to the Lindsay Lynx organization.  It is a simple fundraiser. On the back of your receipt please include:
 
                                      -     Lindsay Lynx hockey
-       Players name  and number
-       Team  ( Eg  Bantam B)
-       Place receipts in brown slotted box to the L of the front doors as     you exit. 
-       Earnings will be paid by Boston Pizza towards the end of the season. 

 
    You purchase gift cards through Fundscrip on-line- at www.fundscrip.com. You register under Lindsay Girls Hockey Association. Our invitation code is LS72JL. You will receive confirmation  at your email address to  confirm and activate account.
Gift cards can be purchased weekly ---- Same pick up location each week  which is  Collins Barrow in Lindsay. Gift cards are the face value of what you purchased.
-       A % of each gift card purchased goes directly to the Lynx Organization (each gift card has a % that is earned) eg Canadian Tire – You purchase a $25 gift card—you will get a $25 gift card.  3% of the face value will be paid to the Lynx directly from Fund scrip.
